Craft breweries announce collaborative beer for Brew Ridge Trail Music Festival: Brew Ridge Collaboration Ale
Four national and world acclaimed breweries that line the Virginia Brew Ridge Trail: Blue Mountain Brewery,
South Street Brewery, Starr Hill Brewery and Devils Backbone Brewing Co. have announced the creation of a collaborative Black IPA, Brew Ridge Collaboration Ale, for the upcoming Brew Ridge Trail Music Festival. The unveiling of Brew Ridge Collaboration Ale will take place on August 8 when it goes on tap at Starr Hill Brewery, with several opportunities to sample the beer before the main event on Aug 21 (full tasting/event schedule below). Jason Oliver, brewmaster of Devils Backbone Brewing Co., the 2010 World Beer Cup Champion for Brewery and Brewmaster for a small brewpub, says “The Brew Ridge Trail Collaborative Ale is brewed to be a Black India Pale Ale (IPA). This is an emerging style of beer, which is one reason why we decided to make it; we wanted to do something new. It’s made with five types of malt and four types of hops and will be a full bodied dark beer with assertive hop flavor. I can hardly wait to try it when it’s done.”
